Episode 2 of The Idol premiered on the morning of June 12, with the title Double Fantasy. As predicted, the show started to pick up pace, introducing more complex characters, engaging dialogues, and, of course, plenty of steamy scenes that are sure to ignite discussions.
Similar to the first episode, Jennie (from BlackPink) still does not have much screen time and only appears in two segments. However, this time, her character makes a significant impact, leaving viewers buzzing about the true role of Dyanne.
In this episode, Dyanne steps into the spotlight as she takes over the duties of music director Nikki (played by Jane Adams) to support the main character Jocelyn (Lily-Rose Depp) after a failed music video shoot. Notably, Dyanne does not shy away from showcasing her singing talents and eventually impresses Nikki with a perfect solo performance.
In the subsequent segment, the plot takes a turn, introducing an unexpected encounter between Dyanne and Tedros, two characters who seem unrelated. It turns out that Dyanne is under Tedros’s control, and the information from their conversation suggests a closer relationship than one might assume. Tedros is hiding a dark secret, while Dyanne holds a crucial piece of the puzzle.

The second episode of The Idol has done quite well in exploring the psychological depth of the main character, Jocelyn. Despite the pressure of participating in a music video shoot, Jocelyn appears vulnerable, struggling with her mental health as she navigates the challenges of fame. This has prompted speculation among viewers regarding the character’s potential descent into chaos.
Later in the episode, Jocelyn seeks out Tedros in a state of despair. Along with Tedros’s group, the two engage in a chaotic home party filled with wild antics. The steamy scenes are abundant, with no shortage of visual stimulation, making the final moments of episode 2 feel reminiscent of a provocative film.
Alongside the plot’s emotional turmoil, The Weeknd’s performance remains a noteworthy aspect of The Idol. Although he plays a supporting role, Tedros’s unsettling presence is consistently felt throughout, with his dialogue often sparking discomfort. The character’s portrayal is enhanced by his disheveled appearance, leaving viewers intrigued yet unsettled.
