At the beginning of 2025, the Vietnamese film industry will witness the premiere of a highly anticipated blockbuster titled The Broken Dream. This film is expected to be the most successful cinematic work of the contemporary Hong Kong film era, surpassing all previous hits, including The Dragon City: Vay Thanh.
Known for its captivating narrative, The Broken Dream will give audiences insight into the superstitious culture, the lives, and the memories of those who work in the funeral service industry. Sometimes, the mouth of the dead may be described as those who “eat the five elements.” However, during moments of reflection, people often find solace in the idea of seeking sustenance from the remains of those who have passed. Nevertheless, regardless of circumstances, what remains most important is to maintain mental balance, ensuring that one does not feel overwhelmed.
The Broken Dream features performances from leading actors such as Hua Quan Van and Huynh Tu Hoa. For those who may not know, Hua Quan Van was the first person to be honored with the Best Actor award at the Golden Horse Awards, the most prestigious and long-standing awards in Hong Kong cinema.
Meanwhile, Huynh Tu Hoa continues to be one of the most famous stars in Hong Kong, achieving significant milestones. Last year, the film “A Guilty Conscience,” where he played the main lead, was a major hit outside the cinema. Produced with a budget of 22.2 million HKD, the film grossed up to 114.2 million HKD.
The film The Broken Dream featuring Hua Quan Van and Huynh Tu Hoa will premiere in Vietnam starting January 10, 2025.
