When it comes to the genre of manga science fiction, it is hard to find a fan who hasn’t experienced Gantz, a masterpiece created by Hiroya Oku. The series began in 2000 and concluded with great anticipation in 2013.
With the success of Gantz, many adaptations were produced, such as the TV anime series that premiered in 2011 and a live-action film that left a significant mark on the hearts of fans.
To pay tribute to this iconic series, a new film adaptation titled Gantz: O was announced to be released in 2016. What’s noteworthy is that the film aims to capture the essence of the manga version while being realized in 3D animation style, featuring characters that closely resemble their comic counterparts.
The film revolves around a group of people in Osaka who are resurrected after death and provided with advanced weaponry to fight against alien creatures if they wish to continue their lives.

Currently, Gantz: O has released its official trailer, showcasing numerous images of the main characters. Notably, the tall character Masaru Katou stands alongside other members of his team as they prepare to battle alien threats.
The film is set to begin screening on October 14.
