USS Indianapolis: Men of Courage – 7/10
This film is based on the true events that occurred during World War II when the USS Indianapolis, a secret mission vessel of the U.S., was sunk by a Japanese submarine. The ship was responsible for delivering components that would later be used in the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima, Japan.
On July 30, 1945, while passing through the Philippines, the ship was attacked and sunk by a Japanese submarine in just 14 minutes, leaving thousands of sailors stranded in dangerous waters. Due to its secret mission, the search and rescue operations did not begin until five days later. The film features performances by Nicolas Cage, Thomas Jane, and Cody Walker (brother of Paul Walker).
