4) The Shining – The Haunted House
The Shining is a psychological horror film directed by Stanley Kubrick, featuring actors Jack Nicholson, Shelley Duvall, Danny Lloyd, and Scatman Crothers. Although based on Stephen King’s novel of the same name, the film and the novel differ significantly in many details. In the film, the main character is Jack Torrance, a writer who takes a job as the winter caretaker at the Overlook Hotel.
The horror film The Shining had a production budget of 19 million USD (a significant amount in the 1980s). The film’s initial release faced harsh criticism, but it eventually grossed over 44 million USD. Upon its release, it received negative reviews from critics. However, over the years, The Shining has been recognized as a cinematic masterpiece. Director Martin Scorsese has praised it as one of the best horror films of all time.

Edge of Tomorrow is a science fiction film co-produced by British and American studios, directed by Doug Liman and based on the novel “All You Need Is Kill” by Japanese author Hiroshi Sakurazaka. The film features a star-studded cast including Tom Cruise, Emily Blunt, and Bill Paxton. It was released in June 2014.
The film’s plot revolves around a near-future world where an alien invasion threatens Earth through a bloody war. In this film, Bill Cage (played by Tom Cruise) is just a public relations officer who has never seen combat and suddenly finds himself thrust into a lethal battle. Killed within minutes, Cage discovers he is trapped in a time loop, reliving the same brutal battle over and over again, dying each time…
However, after each battle, Cage begins to understand the enemy’s strategy and teams up with the fierce warrior Rita Vrataski (Emily Blunt). As Cage and Rita continue to fight against the alien invaders, each confrontation brings them closer to a victory they desperately seek.
