Recently, one of the leading news outlets in the horror film genre, Bloody Disgusting, officially announced a special film project currently in development. The central character in this chilling film is none other than the well-known princess, Princess Lâm Lem.
According to Bloody Disgusting, this new horror film is titled Cinderella’s Curse (translated title: The Curse of Princess Lâm Lem). The film, produced by ChampDog Films, is slated for release in October 2023, with filming expected to start in June. Additionally, the identity of the actress playing Lâm Lem in this new project has also been “leaked.”
The role of Princess Lâm Lem will be played by actress Kelly Rian Sanson. Born in 1994, Sanson has previously participated in several low-budget horror projects but has also made a name for herself in some high-profile productions, including Mission: Impossible – Fallout starring Tom Cruise. However, upon the announcement, some fans commented that Sanson’s appearance may not be suitable for the role of Lâm Lem, making it hard to compare her to Lily James in the 2015 Disney film.
However, some opinions diverge, suggesting that this horror adaptation of Lâm Lem could “break the mold” and doesn’t necessarily have to follow the traditional fairy tale narrative. According to leaked information from the production team, the plot of Cinderella’s Curse will revolve around Lâm Lem’s turmoil after a long period of being oppressed and mistreated by her two stepsisters. Ultimately, Lâm Lem will embark on a quest for revenge, reclaiming her power. Alongside Lâm Lem, other key cast members have also been confirmed, keeping fans eagerly anticipating the film.
