The DC cinematic universe is set to kick off 2023 with the return of superhero Billy Batson in the blockbuster Shazam! Fury of the Gods. This time, Billy, along with his siblings, will face greater challenges than in the first film, primarily against the three daughters of Atlas – the Titan who rules over the source of magical powers.
Shazam! Fury of the Gods is anticipated to be one of the most ambitious projects from DC and Warner Bros. this year, despite the turbulence that the film industry has faced in recent months. The trailer showcases not only the superheroes and their powers but also introduces a variety of mythical creatures, most notably the ferocious dragons that Shazam must battle.
Zachary Levi will reprise his role as Billy Batson/Shazam in the upcoming blockbuster, joined by Helen Mirren (Hespera), Lucy Liu (Kalypso), Grace Caroline Currey (Mary Bromfield), Jack Dylan Grazer (Freddy Freeman), and several other cast members.
Shazam! Fury of the Gods is scheduled to hit theaters on March 17th, 2023.
