The Monsterverse film universe created by Legendary Pictures revolves around the survival battles of humanity against colossal creatures. It began in 2014 with the release of the first film, Godzilla, followed by Kong: Skull Island in 2017, Godzilla: King of the Monsters in 2019, and most recently, Godzilla vs. Kong in 2021. These films have collectively grossed over $2 billion at the global box office.
Recently, Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures officially unveiled the title for the latest installment in the “Monsterverse,” titled Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire. Along with this announcement was a teaser video hinting at the future of the two legendary Titans.
This upcoming film will take audiences on an exploration of a completely new world, previously undiscovered, featuring many new types of monsters and breathtaking visual spectacles that have never been seen before.

The latest film in the Monsterverse will continue the storyline from Godzilla vs. Kong, featuring a completely new adventure. An enormous Kong and a formidable Godzilla will both face off against an emerging threat lurking within our world, challenging the survival of these two Titans—and humanity itself.
This new blockbuster will delve deeper into the origins of the two Titans, unveiling secrets tied to the ancient civilizations of the Hollow Earth and beyond. Alongside this, the plot will explore the mythological battles that have shaped the destinies of these extraordinary creatures and their connections to humanity over time.

The follow-up to the successful Godzilla vs. Kong will once again be helmed by director Adam Wingard, who previously directed the last film in the series. Alongside him, returning cast members include Rebecca Hall (as Dr. Ilene Andrews), Brian Tyree Henry (as Bernie Hayes), and Kaylee Hottle (as Jia). Additionally, new faces joining the cast for Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire include Dan Stevens, Fala Chen, and Rachel House, with a screenplay written by Simon Barrett.
Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire is set to hit theaters on March 14, 2024.
