At the end of December, Vietnamese audiences will have the opportunity to watch a film that embodies the essence of “game adaptation,” which is none other than Assassin’s Creed, known in Vietnamese as Sát Thủ Bóng Đêm. This film is set to officially premiere in Vietnam on December 30, just over a week later than its release in the U.S. on December 21.
True to its title, Assassin’s Creed – Sát Thủ Bóng Đêm is based on the storyline of the iconic video game series of the same name developed by Ubisoft. Assassin’s Creed is one of Ubisoft’s most famous game franchises, alongside others like Prince of Persia, Tom Clancy’s series, and Far Cry.
The film features actor Michael Fassbender (well-known for his role as Magneto in X-Men) playing the two main characters: assassin Aguilar de Nerha and his modern-day counterpart, Cal Lynch.
It is noteworthy that the storyline of Assassin’s Creed is uniquely constructed and does not follow any existing game title developed by Ubisoft. Aguilar de Nerha is a completely new character that has never appeared in any Assassin’s Creed game.
Assassin’s Creed is expected to deliver an immersive experience for viewers, resembling the feeling of playing a role-playing video game. The film’s Animus machine is also reminiscent of the technology seen in the games, allowing characters to relive the memories of their ancestors through their genetic makeup.
