Although the global premiere of The Little Mermaid has officially taken place, it remains a topic of intense debate among Disney fans. The casting of Halle Bailey, who has a distinct appearance compared to the animated character from the 1989 film, has raised numerous questions, leaving many viewers perplexed. In fact, prior to Bailey’s selection, several names were rumored to be in consideration for the role of Ariel, including a stunning actress who later became a “hot topic” on social media.

Recently, during the promotional period for The Little Mermaid, an article on Nate, a South Korean entertainment platform, revealed the identity of one of the actresses who auditioned for the role of Ariel. This girl, named Dina Denoire, born in 1998, is a well-known figure. In 2019, she participated in the auditions for the leading role of Ariel but was not selected.

Over time, Denoire’s beauty has captured public attention, becoming a “hot topic” on social media and even receiving praise for being more stunning than Halle Bailey. Although not a professional actress, Dina Denoire is known as an influencer and a fashionista, with a significant online presence. The 9X star also has singing talent, but it is challenging to compare her voice with Bailey’s powerful vocals.

Despite having a beautiful voice and stunning looks, Dina Denoire was ultimately not chosen, and speculation arose regarding her connection to pop icon Beyoncé. Metro UK previously reported that Beyoncé was involved in the production of The Lion King, and that the role of Ariel was handed over to Halle Bailey. Both Bailey and her sister Chloe were signed by Beyoncé’s Parkwood Entertainment after they gained recognition for their singing on YouTube.

Additionally, in 2019, another actress who was also previously considered for the role of Ariel was none other than Zendaya, known for her role in Spider-Man. The Emmy-winning star was reportedly in line for the Disney role but ultimately did not secure it. In an interview with Teen Vogue, Zendaya acknowledged, “We will just have to wait and see” but did not confirm anything for certain.

Despite the considerable controversy surrounding the casting process for Ariel, Halle Bailey remains the most trusted face that Disney has chosen. Her appearance in the film is described as magical, with a voice regarded as one of the best among Disney princesses in recent years. Currently, The Little Mermaid has been released and is projected to gross over $150 million in its opening weekend in North America.
