Could Shikamaru Assume the Role of Hokage?
Unlike others, Shikamaru may not possess overwhelming strength or charisma, but he has demonstrated exceptional leadership skills in critical moments, especially during the Fourth Great Ninja War. Even characters like Boruto and Asuma have suggested that Shikamaru could effectively take on the role of Hokage.
Shikamaru has always stated that he does not wish to bear such a heavy burden alone; however, when Konoha is in need, he is always ready to step up.
Nevertheless, not every attempt has been flawless. As Hokage, Shikamaru has made a few missteps. Despite his reputation for intelligence, some of his decisions regarding Boruto seem questionable. Of course, the influence of Eida may be a factor here, but it does not excuse everything.
There were individuals who believed Sasuke could take on the Hokage role after Naruto stepped away from the conflict; however, in the end, Sasuke was seen as a supporting character when he returned alongside Boruto. Despite many doubts, Shikamaru was still chosen, and he even plays a significant role in the Boruto series.
With Boruto’s return in “Boruto: Two Blue Vortex“, Shikamaru must fully harness his intellect to compensate for his previously acknowledged weaknesses. Let’s see if he can truly prove himself worthy of the Hokage title.
