On July 21, as the world was abuzz with news, U.S. President Joe Biden announced a significant shift in his administration’s strategy regarding the upcoming presidential election. According to him, this decision was made “for the highest interest of the nation,” while simultaneously, he expressed support for Vice President Kamala Harris, who is running as the Democratic candidate in this election cycle.
Following this announcement from the President, social media quickly spread a viral image taken from the animated series “The Simpsons.” This iconic show has long been known for its prophetic depictions of future events.

The image in question comes from the episode “Bart to the Future,” which originally aired on March 19, 2000. In this episode, the character Lisa Simpson is depicted as the President of the United States, working in the Oval Office.
Immediately after the image surfaced, many people began to draw connections between Lisa Simpson and Vice President Kamala Harris. Internet users pointed out the striking resemblance between Lisa’s purple outfit and the attire worn by Kamala Harris during her public appearances.
Before this widespread image sharing, Yeardley Smith, the voice actress for Lisa Simpson, expressed her belief on social media: “I genuinely want to believe that Kamala Harris chose her outfit as a tribute to Lisa Simpson.”

Moreover, a wave of tweets like “The Simpsons did it again!” flooded the platform, comparing Harris’s outfit with that of Lisa. Some comments humorously suggested that the show’s creators might have been time travelers or had a knack for predicting future events, considering the show’s history of accurately depicting significant occurrences.
It’s important to note that this is not the first time “The Simpsons” has aired scenes that coincide with real-life events. Previously, the show has featured scenes related to Donald Trump’s presidency, the COVID-19 pandemic, and the rise of technology such as video calls.
