In the world of anime, there is a notable trend where new characters increasingly showcase powerful abilities. Shounen manga/anime creators (like Naruto, Bleach, etc.) often introduce techniques and abilities that reach such extraordinary levels that they can only be used once or very few times throughout the series.
Masashi Kishimoto, the creator of Naruto Shippuden, is no exception to this “once-in-a-lifetime” rule when crafting exceptionally powerful techniques for characters that can shift the balance of power dramatically. Particularly towards the end of the Naruto series, new techniques introduced were so powerful that they were only seen once and never used again.
Here are some examples of these extraordinary techniques!
Indra no Ya (Indra’s Arrow)
After absorbing the chakra of the nine tailed beasts and utilizing the perfect Susanoo as a vessel for all its power, Sasuke created a technique named Indra no Ya. This is essentially Sasuke’s ultimate weapon when he is in possession of the powerful ability of the Sage of Six Paths. By concentrating chakra into the Susanoo, he is able to unleash a powerful arrow that can obliterate massive targets.
Currently, Sasuke has never been seen using this technique again.
Six Paths: Spiral Ultra-Big Ball Shuriken
The name of this technique also reflects its immense power. When in Sage of Six Paths mode, Naruto transforms into a figure with six arms, creating the Fūton: Shuriken Rasenshuriken with his right hand, and the Bijūdama Rasenshuriken with his left, both of which are enhanced by the Sage’s power.
This is Naruto’s most potent version of Rasengan, capable of devastating landscapes and rotating fiercely when it directly collides with Sasuke’s powerful Susanoo technique, which is backed by the might of eight tailed beasts.
However, it is unlikely that we will see Naruto use this technique again, as it might bring too much destruction to the battlefield.
Tengai Shinsei
Tengai Shinsei is considered a variant of the powerful technique Chibaku Tensei (Planetary Devastation). This is a technique of immense power that Madara Uchiha utilized. With this technique, Madara could summon two massive celestial bodies to crush his enemies across the battlefield.
The strength of Tengai Shinsei is so overwhelming that it can potentially wipe out all shinobi (ninja) in a single attack, even when Onoki tried to counter it with his own powerful techniques. It can decimate multiple targets within a single area of effect.
These incredible techniques reflect the creativity and power scaling in the Naruto series, showcasing how characters evolve in their abilities throughout the story.
