“Fast X”: The 10th Installment of the Iconic “Fast & Furious” Franchise
“Fast X,” the 10th installment of the blockbuster “Fast & Furious” franchise, is set to introduce audiences to the thrilling final chapters of this beloved series. Alongside familiar faces like Vin Diesel and Michelle Rodriguez, “Fast X” welcomes back a fan-favorite character: the cunning hacker Cipher, played by the ageless Charlize Theron.
The Intricate Villain Cipher
Although the “Fast & Furious” franchise has introduced numerous villains, Cipher stands out as a “mastermind of endless survival.” She is an intelligent and highly skilled hacker, utilizing her expertise to manipulate and control those around her. Cipher is a specialist in computer hacking and is not afraid to challenge Dom’s team, even taking on Ramsey’s technological prowess. This character has a significant ability to access advanced technologies, manage complex security systems, and even remotely control nuclear submarines. In “The Fate of the Furious,” she was revealed to be the owner of an extensive criminal network, and it is her cunning that allows her to implement her plans effectively.

Cipher doesn’t hesitate to achieve her objectives, even if it means taking the lives of innocents, including members of Dom’s crew. In “The Fate of the Furious,” she orchestrated a deadly car bomb attack on Dom’s ex-wife and child.
This sinister character also possesses a knack for remaining undetected while executing her plans without drawing attention to herself. The marks of Cipher’s villainy have been woven throughout the previous “Fast” installments, even before her character was introduced.
Cipher is one of the few adversaries who poses a significant threat to Dom’s team, but in “Fast X,” she finds herself in situations that compel her to adjust her goals. “I had some amazing moments while playing Cipher,” Theron shared. “There are still many elements to explore in this complex character. One of Cipher’s strong points is that she always stays one step ahead of everyone else. Greedy and self-serving, characters like Cipher never change; they just choose a different path.”
