On March 28, the film project A Tourist’s Guide to Love (Vietnamese title: Bí Kíp Tình Yêu Của Một Du Khách) officially released its trailer, showcasing scenes filmed entirely in Vietnam. The trailer beautifully features numerous iconic landscapes and familiar destinations in Ho Chi Minh City, Hoi An, Hanoi, and more, seamlessly blended together, all captured by a team entirely from Hollywood.
This is a thrilling Hollywood film set against the backdrop of Vietnam, and indeed, Vietnam is not just a backdrop but a vibrant character in itself. Iconic locations such as the bustling streets of Ho Chi Minh City, the serene rice paddies, the historic My Son Sanctuary, and the ancient town of Hoi An have been beautifully woven together to captivate audiences with their charm and cultural richness.

Additionally, the female lead in the film, Rachael Leigh Cook, is seen wearing traditional attire, engaging in local experiences such as boat rides, visiting incense-making workshops, enjoying unique local cuisines, watching traditional water puppetry, and shopping in local markets.

Beyond the foreign stars, A Tourist’s Guide to Love also features the participation of a Vietnamese actor, artist Lê Thiện. Not only is it a romantic story that showcases love, but the film also promotes Vietnamese tourism to the global audience. “It’s truly great to see more Asian cultural elements being presented in Hollywood films,” commented one viewer beneath the trailer.

The film is set to premiere in Vietnam and globally on April 21, 2023.
