On April 25, 2024, in Hanoi, the Vietnam Electronic Sports Federation (VIRESA), FPT Corporation (FPT Online), and Funtap Corporation signed a memorandum of understanding to collaborate on developing competitive electronic sports to high achievements. This activity is part of a series of significant events, as Vietnam prepares to host the SEA Games 2025, focusing on the electronic sports category.
According to the agreement, the three parties will collaborate to develop activities related to selection, training, and organizing national teams for the game Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB), aiming to promote the electronic sports movement among women in Vietnam, targeting the goal of achieving high regional and national rankings. This is an opportunity for Vietnam to make significant strides in its strategy for developing electronic sports to achieve national excellence.
At the same time, within the framework of cooperation, the three entities will also develop a comprehensive ecosystem for electronic sports in Vietnam, including content products, services, entertainment ecosystems, advertising, brand development, and organizing major competitions both domestically and internationally, with a special focus on women’s electronic sports.

Specifically for the MLBB category, the three parties will ensure the best conditions to support the national teams in training and competing at major regional and international tournaments such as the SEA Games, ASIAD, and the Asian Esports Games (AEG).
By the end of 2024, Vietnam’s electronic sports have achieved many successes on the international stage, especially in women’s categories. According to statistics, at the SEA Games 2023, Vietnam recorded notable achievements in the categories for national teams in electronic sports, including MLBB.
In the coming time, VIRESA, along with FPT Online and Funtap, identifies this as a crucial foundation to expand the ecosystem of electronic sports in Vietnam, making electronic sports a sector focused on long-term sustainable development and becoming a cultural industry supported by the state.

Previously, VIRESA and FPT Online had signed a cooperation agreement aimed at developing electronic sports focused on entertainment and competitive quality in Vietnam. The content will revolve around four main areas: managing activities of sports categories, supporting the training of national teams, organizing events, and conducting competitions.
In addition to the general agreements, FPT also commits to fully supporting all activities related to training, communication, and organizing competitions in Vietnam. Accordingly, this enterprise will quickly implement plans to collaborate with VIRESA to promote and deploy activities to organize events, conduct competitions both domestically and internationally, as well as align with the activities of the national teams.
