It’s sad to say that not all of these dedicated warriors made it to the end. In order to defeat Muzan, nearly all the Hashira had to sacrifice their lives.
- Flame Hashira Kyojuro Rengoku was killed by Upper Moon Three Akaza during the “Mugen Train” arc.
- Sound Hashira Tengen Uzui retired early due to injuries (he lost his left eye and left hand) after battling Upper Moon Six Daki and Gyutaro in the “Entertainment District” arc.
- In her battle against Upper Moon Two Douma, Insect Hashira Shinobu Kocho transformed herself into a poison, sacrificing her life to injure Douma, giving Inosuke and Kanae the chance to finish him off.
- Mist Hashira Muichiro Tokito was killed by Upper Moon One Kokushibo, but his sacrifice helped the others to gain a tactical advantage.
- Stone Hashira Gyoumei Himejima was the strongest among the Hashira, but after a fierce battle with Upper Moon One Kokushibo and Muzan, he was severely injured and could not survive.
- Serpent Hashira Iguro was one of the few who managed to land hits on Muzan during the final battle, but he too sacrificed his life due to severe injuries incurred in the fight against this formidable foe.
- Love Hashira Mitsuri Kanroji also fought against Muzan but ultimately succumbed to her injuries alongside Iguro. Before her death, Serpent Hashira held Mitsuri close, expressing their feelings for each other.
