The film industry boasts many famous stars, especially the rising generation of young artists. However, not all young stars maintain a stable career and develop until they reach maturity. In fact, there are cases where the star’s family background is seen as a “golden spoon,” leading to financial success at a young age, despite the challenges of youth and adolescence.
One of the most notable cases is the family of On Chieu Vu.
The male star, born in 1979, was once a prominent figure in the entertainment scene of the late 80s, known by the stage name Tieu Ban Ban. However, as he matured, the decline of On Chieu Vu’s image led to a career that seemed to fade into obscurity. Struggling financially and facing difficulties, the male star On began to consider work for the new generation of showbiz.
At just 2 years old, On Huyen Diep (known as Tieu Tieu Ban) was already cast in a movie. After participating in Ngôi Sao Hiểu Lòng Tôi, Tieu Tieu Ban began to gain significant fame, receiving numerous film offers from various large studios. Although his rise to fame brought considerable wealth, it also put a strain on his family finances. In just one year, Tieu Tieu Ban reportedly earned around 10 million Yuan (approximately 33 thousand USD).
However, the On family faced their own share of challenges. They were not particularly wealthy, and their financial struggles became apparent when On Chieu Vu decided to divorce. After the separation, he and his daughter Trần Nghệ Quân faced increasing financial burdens.
Two of his sons, who are already adults, drive luxury cars but are unaware of Tieu Tieu Ban’s current financial struggles. Reports suggest that due to high medical expenses, On Chieu Vu’s son has been diagnosed with a serious illness.
By 2016, Tieu Tieu Ban had left the film industry as the scandals surrounding him became increasingly overwhelming. The changes in his appearance and the loss of charm he once had affected his career dramatically. Tieu Tieu Ban returned to a normal life and began to pursue education. Currently, the star is reportedly living like a typical 18-year-old.
QQ reports that Tieu Tieu Ban is working part-time at a delivery service, earning over 1.1 thousand Yuan (approximately 160 USD) a month. Although the amount is modest, he feels happy and content, especially after just graduating.
Regarding On Chieu Vu, he has not ceased to explore the potential of his children in the entertainment industry. Without Tieu Tieu Ban, he still has two sons. The youngest son, known as Mini Ban, has participated in some performances but has not achieved the same success as his older brother. Additionally, the youngest son, nicknamed Manh Manh Ban, is also being prepared for various television shows. However, none of them have made major achievements comparable to their older brother.
Currently, On Chieu Vu has new projects and is focusing on “wealth creation” for his children, striving to ensure a better future for the three siblings.
