Anime has increasingly become a global phenomenon, influencing various aspects of culture, including education. The impact of anime can even be seen in educational textbooks designed for students.
Recently, a South American country released textbooks that feature covers similar to those of various popular animated films. Users on social media quickly noticed the similarities between the anime covers and the textbook designs. It has been reported that the art style was inspired by anime posters to create these textbook covers.
According to information shared on Yahoo News Japan, following concerns raised on social media, the publishing house admitted to borrowing elements and has reportedly distributed about 1.1 million copies of these textbooks to students.
However, those responsible for the publication have expressed regret regarding this issue, stating that they are taking steps to rectify the situation and are implementing strict legal measures against individuals involved in the process. Nevertheless, the publishing house maintains that the content of the textbooks does not contain any problematic material.
