The Saiyan race is one of the most powerful factions in the entire Dragon Ball franchise, and its members possess a wide array of transformations that allow them to reach different power levels.
Initially, all Saiyans are born with a “tail” at the back. With this tail, they can transform into a Giant Ape (Oozaru) during full moons. This transformation serves as a significant power boost in their numerous battles across various planets. The ability to become a massive creature is a formidable advantage, as no one is immune to the devastating power of a Saiyan in this form during a full moon.

However, as time passed, many Saiyan tails were eventually lost. Not only did Trunks and Goten not inherit tails, but the Saiyan of Universe 6 also lacks this characteristic, as they specifically state that they do not need the tail to access their powerful transformations. This raises an important question: are tail-less Saiyans stronger than those who possess tails?
Indeed, the transformation into a Giant Ape is considered the “greatest asset,” a distinctive trait of the Saiyan race. The immense power brought by the Giant Ape is essential for conquering vast areas of the universe, but it has a significant drawback: loss of control. When a Saiyan transforms into a Giant Ape, they become berserk and cannot manage their actions.
While the power boost in this form is impressive compared to other factions, the uncontrollable rage of the Giant Ape can also lead to catastrophic consequences. A notable instance is when Goku, during his first transformation into a Giant Ape, accidentally harmed his own grandfather.
Yet, Saiyans without tails need not worry about this issue and can even leverage their own strength to transform into the most powerful form of the Saiyan race, the Super Saiyan.

In other words, despite the fact that Saiyans with tails can transform into the Giant Ape, those without tails train their inherent strength more rigorously, as they cannot rely on that transformation. Therefore, Saiyans without tails can certainly be stronger than those with tails who depend on that form.
