The renowned author Gosho Aoyama has once again captured the hearts of fans with the latest installment in the series featuring the iconic duo Shinichi Kudo and Ran Mouri from Detective Conan. This time, the film titled Detective Conan: The Black Steel Submarine has premiered in China, immediately garnering attention for its many intriguing plot details.

Many details from the 26th film of Conan have quickly “dominated” the hot search rankings on Weibo, with the top trending keyword being “Conan and Haibara together.” According to a blogger, in one scene, Conan is seen using a gas to make a confession, which he is unable to articulate. Following that, Haibara directly confronts him to help him with his artificial confession.

The portrayal of Conan and Haibara as a potential “couple” in the 26th movie has sparked heated debates among fans. Many opinions suggest that the team may be exploiting fan service to attract the audience’s attention, despite the awkward pairing of Conan and Haibara. Previously, screenwriter Takeharu Sakurai had indicated that the film would depict Conan protecting Haibara, but later on, it reversed the roles, with Haibara looking out for Conan. This shift raises the possibility that Haibara and Conan may indeed end up together.

Moreover, viewers have also noted another intriguing plot detail in the film. After coming up for air, Conan wanted to confess to Haibara but, as he was about to make contact, Haibara had already refused him. She then asked Ran to return the favor, along with Conan. However, this detail was deemed too unbelievable, containing a part that felt “forced.”

Detective Conan: The Black Steel Submarine focuses on the story between Haibara and the organization known as the Black Organization. After many years, Haibara suddenly finds herself in the crosshairs of Gin and the infamous organization, and Conan must step in to rescue his old friend. The film is set to premiere in Vietnam on July 21, 2023.
