Extraction 2 (Vietnamese Title: Nhiệm Vụ Giải Cứu 2) starring Chris Hemsworth is currently making waves globally, leading the viewership charts just after its release on June 16. The film’s intense action has prompted many viewers to revisit the first installment, helping Extraction (2020) remain among the top 10 most popular films on Netflix.

The sequel has received positive feedback from critics, achieving a score of 76% on Rotten Tomatoes, which is an improvement over the 67% rating of the original film. The action sequences, cinematography, and explosive combat have been particularly praised. Notably, there is a thrilling 21-minute long action scene that has captivated audiences.
The film follows Tyler Rake, a skilled mercenary, as he embarks on another perilous mission. This time he must rescue a woman and her two children who are being held captive by a dangerous criminal named Davit. This woman’s husband has reached out to Tyler for help. The plan is to extricate the three of them without Davit discovering their escape.
However, Davit uncovers Tyler’s identity and calls upon his own men to retaliate. In the ensuing battle, Tyler and his team successfully eliminate the criminal organization. They manage to escape to Vienna for safety.
The journey, however, is far from over, as Sandro (played by Andro Japaridze), one of the two children being rescued, informs Tyler about the family’s situation. The young boy struggles with resentment toward Tyler for being involved in the death of his grandfather. This conflict not only endangers Tyler’s team but also has repercussions for Sandro’s family.

Despite the acclaim, Extraction 2 faced criticism regarding the character development of Sandro. The boy is portrayed as a liability to both his family and Tyler’s team. Viewers have noted that he stands out as one of the most disliked characters to appear on screen. Below are some notable comments from international audiences.
– I’m watching Extraction 2 and genuinely want something bad to happen to Sandro.
– The term “liability” doesn’t even begin to describe this character.
– Sandro deserves a spot on the list of most hated characters alongside T-Bag, Arturo, and Ramsey.
– I truly despise the negative portrayals in the film. One perplexing aspect is why Sandro is the only character who does not suffer at all throughout the movie.
