The Flash

The Flash made its first appearance in the DC Universe in 1940, and to this day, there have been four officially recognized versions of this superhero. However, Barry Allen, the second incarnation of The Flash, is the most widely known. This version of The Flash will also be featured in the upcoming film.
Barry Allen, also known as “The Flash,” is considered one of the most iconic characters in DC Comics, on par with legendary figures like Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman. In the DC universe, The Flash is one of the “speedsters,” heroes powered by incredible speed. Barry Allen is typically depicted in a bright red suit adorned with yellow lightning bolts on the chest and on either side of his ears. Notably, Barry Allen’s suit can be customized with a special emblem.
The upcoming film will explore Barry Allen’s journey as he grapples with the loss of his family after one fateful night. Driven by a desire to reunite with his family, Barry, using The Flash’s powers, travels back in time to the past. However, this act alters events along the timeline, trapping Barry in a reality where the world is at risk, and no superheroes exist to help.
Ezra Miller, who portrays The Flash, shared insights about the character: “The storyline in this film is very intimate and touches on being ‘human.’ Barry lives with the pain of trying to resolve issues from his past. This is his journey—a person who never gives up hope that he can fix everything in the present. He will continue to seek balance between his hopes for his family and the responsibility of creating a ‘better’ future.”
Batman 1989

The new film also pays homage to Michael Keaton’s iconic return as Batman from over 30 years ago, under the direction of Tim Burton. The Flash brings back this beloved character, this time as a mentor to Barry Allen. Despite being trapped in a different timeline, Barry must seek out this version of Batman—Michael Keaton’s portrayal—to ask for guidance.
Michael Keaton’s appearance as Batman has already excited fans, especially with the initial trailer revealing his iconic looks. While maintaining the classic “dark” vibe of Batman, Keaton also revives the famous line from the 1989 film: “You wanna get nuts? Let’s get nuts,” which has fans buzzing with anticipation.
Justice League Batman

Not only one, but two Batmans will appear in The Flash. Alongside Michael Keaton, Barry Allen will also encounter Ben Affleck’s Batman, who previously portrayed the character in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League directed by Zack Snyder.
Currently, there aren’t many details about Ben Affleck’s role in The Flash. What is known is that he will reprise his role as Batman, driving the Batmobile in a pivotal scene. Fans are eager to see how both versions of Batman will interact in this dynamic film.
Supergirl

This marks the first time that Supergirl will play a significant role in a DC cinematic feature. The character was originally created to support Superman, but in The Flash, audiences will see many different facets of her character. The Supergirl character will also be adapted from the Flashpoint storyline, where she is depicted as a powerful figure, caught up in complex governmental conflicts.
Sasha Calle, who portrays Supergirl, shared her excitement about joining the project: “Stepping into the role of Supergirl is a dream come true for me. I believe she is a completely unique superhero. She’s beautiful and powerful, but she also has human traits, making her relatable, despite being an… extraterrestrial.” Like Superman, Supergirl hails from the planet Krypton.
General Zod

Compared to previous character portrayals in the DC Universe, General Zod may not be the most recognizable name, especially given his previous appearances under Superman’s grasp in Man of Steel. However, his return in The Flash promises to bring a completely new perspective to the character.
General Zod will once again be played by actor Michael Shannon. Fans were thrilled with the news that Shannon would reprise his role, heightening their anticipation for The Flash. Many beloved characters are set to collide in this film, likely leading to epic battles unseen in previous adaptations.
The Flash is set to premiere in Vietnam on June 16.
