Currently, under the direction of James Gunn, the DC universe’s films, television shows, animations, and video games are heading in exciting new directions.
Director James Gunn has announced 10 new films and series that will contribute to his plans for the upcoming years.
1. Superman: Legacy (Film)

Set to be directed and written by James Gunn, Superman: Legacy is scheduled for release on July 11, 2025. This film will explore the story of Clark Kent and the challenges he faces as he transitions into becoming Superman, along with the balance between his ordinary life as Clark and his heroic responsibilities.
2. The Authority (Film)

James Gunn has opted to adapt The Authority, a film based on a team of unconventional superheroes not originally from DC but from the Wildstorm imprint that DC acquired. This team includes characters such as The Midnighter, The Doctor, Jenny Sparks, and Apollo. Known for their more ruthless approach, The Authority is prepared to change the world without worrying about the consequences.
3. Batman: The Brave and The Bold (Film)

Batman: The Brave and The Bold will introduce Damian Wayne, Bruce Wayne’s biological son, taking on the role of Robin. The film will showcase Bruce’s journey as he discovers that Damian is his son. Gunn mentioned, “It’s a very unique father-son story about two very different people.”
4. Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow (Film)

Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow will present a story contrasting Superman’s upbringing in a loving family, while Supergirl faces a much harsher journey, which will be the focus of this film.
